for most people 285/70 r17's (approx. 33x11.50) will fit without spacers with no rubbing at all.

Try the Hankook Dynapro MTs. The have an aggressive tread and run very smooth, no noise. Definately one of the best MTs I've run. I would say they give BFG muds a good run. Plus, they are $50 cheaper per tire than MT MTZ. I bought 4 for $1000 mounted and balanced at Discount Tire.

I just put a set of NITTO TERRA GRAPPLER A/T 295/70/17 these tires are D rated they are quiet & hook up great , fill up the fenders nicely but the D rating sucks for my HP and weight and I can feel a decrease in power !
next time its no bigger then 285/70/17 maximum size and E rated only , I really miss the performance of the 265/70/17 those stock tires are the bomb for lighting the turbo quick and just feel a heck of a lot more performance & better fuel mpg , but I am a lead foot LOL ....so far other then that no reason I would not buy the nitto again they do hook up nice very grippy tire. they are avail in both 265/70/17 E 285/70/17 E I have seen the 265/70/17 for 119.00 each not a bad price for a quality tire.

Stay away from the Nitto Terra Grapplers. I have them in 285/70/17 and they SUCK!

They wear really fast,I'll be lucky to get to 20K miles. They aren't very puncture resistant either. I've already had 2 flats in less than 10K miles.

The tire shop reccomended 6K mile rotations. At 6K miles they had already worn 1/3 of the tread depth out. I tried 3K rotations and it helped, but not by much.

On a good note, they do have excellent traction. I just towed my 2 place snowmobile trailer through 2' of snow and never slipped a tire.

I'd give up some traction for a little longer life.

what does the load rating have to do with hp? the only diff between an e and a d is 10 ply compared to 8 ply.
