new tires? any suggestions?
I've been looking at the pro comp extreme mud terrain tires...and I"m not sure what the best size would be...stock is 265/75 right? I'm looking at 265/70 (load range E) and 305/65 (load range E) I have a 3500 so i need the "E"! just wondering if the 305's will rub....I havent leveled it yet and from what I"ve read i dont think they will...The site says the overall diameter on the 305 is 32.8"....just under a 33. One more thing.. I think I have 3.73 gears... anyway thats easy to check that besides getting it on a lift and spinning them?!? Thanks!

my only hesitation is whether or not the 305s will be too wide for the stock rim. If you dont mind spending a little more money get the toyo 295 70 17 a way better tire that is not so wide but a little taller.

I have the new Extreme MT's. They have been on several weeks now and I really like them. One thing to investigate is the load range for the size your are looking at. On their website and in the local dealer's brochure my 37x12.5x17 showed to be E rated. When I got the tires it said D. We called them and they said the tire is correct the printed info is wrong. They were going to fix the mistake and they were willing to refund my money. I don't tow and the last set of Extreme AT's were D and they did just fine, so I kept them. So before you purchase you might want to have the tire shop call just to confirm the rating.

I am concidering Nitto Terra Grapplers in 305/70/17 - they are a E rated tire I believe. A little under 34" (33.8) tall and about 12" wide. I figure if people are running 315/70/17 on stock and rubbing just a tad, I should be ok with this. 315/70/17 is around 34.5" tall and 12.4" wide.

I am on my second set of BFG Mud Terrains (35x12.50) on the stock wheels with a 2" spacer up front. They are quiet on the road and provide excellent traction in snow and rain. I had a set of ProComp M/T's on the truck and they wore horribly and were noisy as anything on the road. My vote is BFG M/T's.
