New tires

My truck will be needing tires soon. My question is how much tire can you fit on the stock rims? Any particular tire to stay away from? I have always run BFG tires in the past but am open to suggestions. I would prefer a load "E" tire as I tow a car trailer. Pictures would be great! Thanks

When I got my '05 new, I had the BFG Rugged Trails E rate and I got about 60K miles out of them. I bought BFG AT's E rated and am completely happy. Sorry no pic's.

My vote is for BFG's

Many don't like BFG but my 315's are perfect or me even in a D rating (not available in E at that size). 10% improvement on the tach and only rub a bit on full lock. You get used to that pretty quick. Fills the wells very nicely.New tires-img00153.jpgely,

^^I tow my TT and flatdeck regularily and my bobcat runs 14,000# with the tree spade on board. No issues with my D's

I run 305/65/17s on my stock rims, they are equal to 33x12.5 and are E rated. No clearance or gearing issues at all. They are not huge but I like them and they don't dog the truck. I have ProComp Extreme ATs and they are great so far.

I think the Michelin LTX M/S is about the best all around tire you can buy. E rated. Smooth and quiet on the highway. Chews up snow and packed roadways like tire chains. Adequate on muddy/snowy fire roads. Never get out of balance. In normal use 60K miles is expected.

I run the Toyo 285/75/17. Clearance is fine. E rated and I really like them so far. I like them better than the BFG 315 KO's I had before I got the Toyos.

For your stock rim.. . . . .I did the BFG 315/70R/17 last time but to soft. When you go to the 305 from the 315 you only loose about 3/4". I now have E 305/70R/17 Nitto TG. I like em. Hope I get 40K out of em.

The 315s just barely rubbed the lower control arm and the 305s don't. If you gotta run 315s I wouldn't let that rub stop ya.
