New O/D lockout kit ordered
After me guys: I talked with Pat At BD Yesterday and ordered the New 05 O/D lockout kit, The unit will also give you a third gear lock-up when O/D is locked out; He told me I was the first in line and I'm sure there will be plenty more, anybody that owns an 05 w/ a 48re will have to agree that this is an option that D.C. just dropped the ball on. Can't wait to install and post results
A buddy of mine has taken his F250 gas burner and traced the wiring diagram out and installed an foot dim swith and a toggle switch to his tranny so he can lock and un lock each gear at will he says it make life a lot easier at paenut picking time b/c his tranny is not having to be between gaers at 25- 40 mph
PS
he has way too much free time!!

Got to have one too. Ive been looking over the wiring diagram, trying to come up with a switch, and its giving me a headache. I've found the wire, but I dont know what to do with it.
It's a plug in, not yet on shelf but you can call Pat @ BD-power 1-800-887-5030 and get on the order list, they start shipping in about two weeks; He said the approx. price is going to be 225.00 from what I understand you just double clic the tow/haul button; there must be an indicator light? not sure but looking forward to finding out

anything you add has a potential of DC voiding your warranty including those 325-70-17s and leveling kit. In my mind this mod. could only help a potential problem including early brake failure, and additional stress to the cummins for lugging issues. As we know this is the smart tranny and it always knows what gear to be in! Ha; It just doesn't work with my driving habits, or pulling, or decelerating, or etc., etc, etc.

The warranty provider must prove that your change caused the failure. Again, this is Federal Law. To provide a simplistic example, let's say you put an aftermarket radio in your truck, then you have a rear end failure. This is NO WAY that your radio could have anything to do with the failure. The way some folks think, using anything other than genuine Mopar stuff will 'void your warranty'. If this were true, would most of us be using Fleetguard oil filters or major oil producer motor oil? No.
On the 06s you can put shift lever in 2nd and it'll lock in 2nd and converter will then lockup in 2nd . For stiff uphill pulling and downhill motor braking. I think maybe the 05 have this 2nd gear feature also.

However, I think Id have a decent case to argue that the tires & leveling kit should not affect the tranny. To a degree, it puts a greater load on the tranny - but heck, how is that load any different (or worse) than towing a X,XXXlb trailer? Was the truck not designed with towing in mind? The tranny should easily be able to handle the extra resistance.
On the other hand, when you're talking about messing with the electronics that control the tranny, well that's a whole different ballgame.
