New Injectors and still hard starting?

Awhile back probably 2mths ago. I said I was going to buy new injectors well I just bought them and had them installed by a certified Bosch dealer here in Texas. I bought stock injectors had them put in and my truck still acts the same way as it did before the new injectors also maybe a year ago I installed a Airdog 100 and changed the fuel filter. This is what it is doing maybe someone will chime in and help me out. In the morning it will crank and run for about 5 seconds and die, crank it again it will run 5 seconds and die. Then I will crank it again give it some throttle and keep it going and it will run but the engine runs good and then it will almost die and sound like a rattle in the injectors and once it gets going on it's own it will kind of idle up then down. I picked it up today from the shop and it cranked right up. I killed it while talking to the manager of the shop and went to crank it back up and it started like I explained above. Now the manager said it was Air in the system. He said that immediatley when it shut down by itself, I proceeded to crank it up again and he heard that rattle which has been there for awhile and he said it didn't do that when they moved into the shop to replace the injectors. He also said that it is sucking air to cause that and the way it is running. So I drive home after leaving that shop motor runs great it doesn't stall or idle weird I get home and shut it off and go out there about 4 hrs later and its back to hard start and wierd idle. So the big question is where could it be sucking air at anybody know? Oh and I had the old filter mount lift pump not tank mount. But I have the Airdog 100 mounted on the frame and run up to the filter housing with the plate with fitting which took care of the old lift pump. Could that be the place it is sucking air?

And that is what you don't want to do with new injectors. I'd check to make sure the water/fuel filter is the right one. Also, make sure that the fuel line isn't rubbing anywhere.

if it is sucking air, it's between the air dog pump and the fuel in the tank.

if it has a leak between the air dog to the CP3 and CP3 to rail, it would be leaking fuel, so it cant be sucking air there.

the way to test is take a line off the air dogs pump pressure delivery side, put it in a jug, bucket or anything. fire up the pump and watch the fuel flow with the hose submerged when there's enough fuel. if it had air bubbles in the fuel, it's sucking air. then you have to find it.

it is possible it is syphoning the head dry of fuel from the fuel return also.

the first place I'd look is the connection from the air dog at the top of the tank, anywhere below the tank it would drip fuel when not running.

DodgeRam24, It doesn't have a leak anywhere. No fuel drops wet spots or anything. That manager said it would not show signs of a leak because it is like a vaccum. Thats just hard to believe though. I have worked on mechanical stuff for along time. I ain't a professional mechanic or anything but to me if it was leaking somewhere i figure it would show some sign of fuel spillage somewhere. I will pull line and check out the line like you said. The only reason I didn't do my own injectors is because I have been in a wheelchair for 30 yrs. and as I got older it is just to hard on me to try and lean over the truck and do them myself. Thats why I had someone else do them.

Also 06Ram2500, I have Fleetgaurd fuel filters I got from Geno's Garage. They have been changed at about 7500 miles like the oil filters and oil.

Thanks so much. I will find out and let ya'll know what the outcome is.

Have you thought about replacing the FCA? Kinda has all the symptoms of a bad one.

like i said, if it is above the level of fuel it will not leak fuel, but suck air, it will leak/drip if it is below the level of fuel.

I'd check the top of the tank where it connects to the module/straw or where ever you have drawing from first is what i was implying.

running the pump, checking the fuel for air in it will tell you yes or no, that is what i would do first.

Good Luck!

DodgeRam24, I will check that on top of the fuel tank being a dodge dually its not like a single wheel truck its hard to get up in there from the side through the wheel well. I had to drop the tank down lucky the first time when I connected the Airdog and the fuel line. Fuel tank was low and I suck the rest of the fuel out and dropped it down with a floor jack and made all my connections that way.

jhenson yeah I been reading alot about the FCA and it got me thinking that it could also be the problem lot of folks on here that have changed there's seem to help there trucks. I am going to check all the connections and see first if it is sucking air and go to that next.

I really appreciate ya'lls help and response to this problem I have with my truck. I haven't been able to get to it cause of work. I will let ya'll know as soon as I can what it was.
