I am looking at buying an 06 mega cab 2500 but it has some tranny problem. When you shift from park to drive it wants to die but if you give it some gas and get the truck moving it does fine. It shifts through every gear fine but as soon as you stop the truck dies. Does anyone have any ideas?

 

Doesn't sound like a trans problem. More like a fuel delivery issue. Any Codes? CEL on?

 

mine did this ,fca was the problem.best $100 I have spent ever.

 

It could be the converter is partially applied.

so I called DTT in Canada and talked to 3 different people and they all suggested injecters. What do you guys think?

 

FCA is a part on the injection pump that controls fuel flow (IIRC).

Not sure it's the injectors, I'd have someone take a look at it for sure. Could be expensive, or a $100 fix as mentioned above. Does the oil smell like fuel?
