Just joined and already have a question
I found a 2004 3500 slt but it has a Laramie badge on the tailgate and has the leather heated seats. I looked at the build date but forgot to write it down. could any one tell me what size cummins motor it has? I read some where that if the vin number has the letter c as the 8th character that it is a HO. So is it a 305/555 or a 325/600? Thank you

 

there is a whit sticker on the side of the motor, visible from drivers side i think. it will give the horsepower rating.

Unless it is an early California model, it is a high output, HO, Cummins I believe. The standard output, SO, was quite a bit lower (250/460 ??). So the question is, "Which HO is it?" My '06 has a C as the eighth figure in the VIN.
