Need some advise

I'm having a fuel leak dripping from the bottom of the transmission. I've traced it back to the #6 injector but can't see exactly what is leaking. Should I assume it's a bad injector and get it replaced? Do I need to replace all injectors at the same time??? (137,000 miles)

Also, the dealership told me a rebuilt injector is $580 plus installation.

Suggestions???

check the return line at the back of the head. if i'm thinkin right when these injectors leak it is not external it usaully leaks inside the head because there is no way for the fuel to get out. check your oil to make sure that their is no diesel is in it. if their is no diesel then i think the leak is external on your fuel lines. just my observation

Been a number of posts about number 6 fuel line cracking.Supposly a new updated bracket to add to number 6 fuel line to prevent this.Contact your nearest Dodge dealer.Maybe a TSB on this. You need to verify this is the issue your having.

I just took the engine hoist bracket off, started the truck and can see fuel dripping from the bottom of the injector nut. Is this the location of the crack or would this indicate a bad injector issue??? I did tighten it but it still is leaking.

Help!

Couldn't find a TSB for a leaking feed/return line to #6. Looks like a trip to the dealer is coming...

Where is the best place to buy stock injectors?

Can anyone comment about $580 for each injector. Is this an average price? Do injectors need to be replaced after so many miles or do they either work/don't work?

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
580 is sort of outragous. Check on Ebay finds sets for less. Mid West and Penscola Diesel can beat. No, don't have to replace due to milage. Don't have to be cleaned with snake oil in fuel tank either.

Try to tighten the injector line nut down, not the lock nut but the fuel line nut. If you have an injector issue you can send them to F1 diesel via Midatlantic diesel and have new flux 1 tips put and and rebuild the bad ones for 150 an injector. 2100 bones. New ones from Cummins are around 2200 and change (380 a piece from what I remember). Probably just the line nut loosened up. Heard of it before. If not then replace the #6 line and all should be well. #6 line is prone to cracking as was stated earlier.

Update

Stateline Diesel found that the #6 fuel line had a small leak. They replaced the tube and I'm back on the road.

Thanks everyone.
