this thread has the back ground on the problem,https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=134085
but what caused it i dont know I am very good to my truck it just keeps stalling and fuel mileage went to hell, pump never even leaked but anyway do you guys think this was my fuel mileage and power (or lack of) issues. most important the mpg will they be back up with new pump if the ever get one?

I just got one (I'm guessing you're talking about a CP3) replaced today. Had to wait a week for it to come in though....

Oh, and FYI - the dealership tried to charge me a $100 deductible for the work, until I was able to show them it's covered under the no-deductible portion of the Cummins warranty (first 5 years). Still had to prove my point a little bit, but they came through.

If it was the CP3, did you hear any kind of noises, I have my CP3 making a ticking/tapping noise, dealer said its normal, funny cause I never noticed it until the ULSD came out.

I didn't notice any noise, difference in engine sound, etc. at all. I just kept getting whiffs of diesel when the truck was in the garage (yes I'm one of the fortunate ones that can keep it in a garage). I finally got around to checking the CP3 and found it was wet with diesel on the underside, and the wiring harness was also wet.

I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH that you make sure you have your little warranty booklet with you when you get it replaced to show the service advisor (and probably the service manager) that the CUMMINS part of the warranty does not have a deductible for the first 5 years or 100K miles. If it's years 6 or 7 then there's a $100 deductible. But it took me actually showing it to them before they would actually waive the $100 deductible. They both seemed to be surprised at this being in the warranty booklet.

Makes me wonder how many customers have paid that $100 deductible that shouldn't have, for things like lift pumps.... not to mention CP3's...

Also - do a search for posts by (I think) Rich2500 on this site - he has a TON of information on the leaking CP3.
