If the tranny does'nt need to come out I would block/tie it up,,, other wise your first option sounds better to me!!!!
The two together is a pretty good load,,,,,that 5600 is a heavy chunk of iron!!! JMHO

i wish i could block it up but i cant. i am using a chainfall. i have already used it to pickup the new motor and tranny. so i know it will hold the wieght. the other option is to pull the tranny first.

I would unbolt trans and chain it up. Unless your pulling the cab off, thats a pretty heavy load to muscle around. There is not much clearance between the cab and engine. Some raise the cab and stick blocks of wood to hold up. Others just pull the valve cover and rear rockers and injector. To each his own, I usually pull the valve cover and rockers with injector. Gives you just enough room to get engine in with everything on engine. Just make sure clutch is perfectly centered with pilot bearing or trans will not go in and mate up to engine. Good Luck

Yeah if you have a motor tranny combo ready to go it may work out ok,,,, You better have some GOOD help and do a good job on your rigging,,,

Ive often pulled SBC with the tranny connected but that is much lighter,,,,

Be careful,,,, the good thing is you will find out how to do you rigging on the removal,,,, the same should be real close for doing the install,,,,
