Need ball joints, what else should I do

So I need new ball joints all the way around. When I do them I plan on replacing the u-joints the in the axle, what else should I do while I am in there? I already have a ball joint press, and puller is there anything else special that I need?

if you are talking about doing the axle end u joints, I would be real carefull, otherwise you may end up needing a new hub or two. Had the dealer do my axle end u joints and they ended up having to replace one of hte hubs due to it breaking during the job. I heard it was a pita to tackle and decided to let them do it.

might as well do the hub conversion while you're there, that way you get new bearings and will never have to touch the front drive again.

Pulling the hubs was easy on both my 94 and a friends 03 the trick is to use the power steering and walk the bolts out no need to beat them out like some do did the ball joints and axle shafts on a freinds 03 1.5hrs a side

If you are doing axle U joints, and ball joints, the only other things I suppose you could consider while you have it down would be axle seals and wheel bearings.

Personally, I don't think I would do either unless there was any sign of leak, or any sign of roughness in the wheel bearings...

you should go through the whole front end- brakes, axle u-joints, tie rods, pit arm,etc,etc- if anything is weak- replace it. i redid my whole entire front end last summer- replaced everything!

Don't really have the money to just go in and replace everything, but if it is bad or leaking it will get replaced while I am in there. From what I understand the seals have to be done from inside the dif housing. I just recently had the truck aligned, they were the ones who told me the ball joints were bad, everything was in spec except for the toe in, should I go ahead and get adjustable upper ball joints while I am at or will standard ones be ok for me?

my shop told me I needed new ball joints, a little up and down play. I called Moog and the tech said a little up and down is OK, just no side play. I now have 15k more miles on the ball joints that were supposed to kill me. I use the needle to lube them.
