My 05 ran off on me 2 times and it was a cause of acc pedal getting hung up under the aftermarket floor mat.
It never ghost accelled like you guys are describing. My 07 has never done it.
05 was the first year for drive by wire so if the 04's are doing it as-well then I would guess built up boost pressure to be the culprit.

Mine has done it since first purchased, it's more noticeable with my Quad. I thought it was just residual turbo pressure.
Easy fix, don't floor it for a second or two with vehicles around you and you won't feel it's a safety issue.

okay, not sure if this helps, or if they were right, but i had my truck towed in to dealer, it died, turned out all injectors were bad, bad fuel, before this happened it use to run off on me like every one is describing, really put me in some fun spots, but when i pickede the truck up with the new injectors, the mech told me that would also fix the engine running off on me also, and it did, for a while, after a few months it seems to start doing it a little again, so, if it was the injectors being dirty causeinf it, Im wondering if the fuel is so lousy that after 2 months they are getting dirty again already, I do have an airdog, and 3 micron filter, just not sure if its enough, or my thinking is even right, but it is what the mech said about the injectors causing it
