If its really cold out it may be waiting to see things come up to temp.

I know the 7.3s do this, you can mash the throttle down the floor and nothing will happen.

Whats the temp where you are?

The answer is in the question. We all know God drives a Dodge. You have shown us that Arkansas truly is God's country.

Seriously though, It sounds strange to me. It can't have anything to do with cold temperatures if it stops doing it when he comes to ... well I guess I won't go there again.

Best of luck

The angle has nothing to do with it either, I park in my driveway at a petty high angle every day and have no problem.
I do have a question thou, does he put his foot on the pedal when he starts it up? There was a post about people starting these truck like gassers and putting thier foot on the pedal to start it up and theat is a BIG NO NO
When yo do that it screws up the computer and causes those same ssyptoms that yo are talking about. The only way to fix it would be to shut her down and restart her

Is he waiting for the heater light on the dash to go out before he starts the truck?

It's called "Dead Pedal". He is probably pushing the gas pedal a bit when he starts it. Don't touch the pedal, just let it start.

The easy solution is, shut it off and restart. SHould have pedal response. None of this waiting a minute stuff. Just shut down and restart.

Now having said that, it is still not supposed to have Dead Pedal. There is a TSB out to fix it. The number is TSB 18-027-03.

Go to www.dodgeram.info/tsb/2003

You'll find it there. Print it off and take it with you to the dealer.
