lol. tried cold start today with belt on and NO noise at all. it was either the bracket clipping the fan slightly or ?????maybe rings seating better on the pistons?shes gone for now whatever it was

 

My truck is making the same exact noise but my circumstances are different. Mine does not do it when it is cold. It only does it when I have reached full operating temperature and am idling in gear. If I throw it in neutral then the sound all but goes away. I can still hear it a little bit in neutral but it is maybe only 10% of what it is in gear. I installed a 180 stat to see if the engine was getting too hot and thinning my oil out but that has not helped even after changing the oil again. Anybody have any thought? It sounds exactly like Sallyman's video.......
