Just found out from the dealer that the last dealer was told to replace everything from the tank to the heads. Funny they never mentioned that to me when I picked it back up. Dodge is saying it looks like a fuel contamination problem but seeing how the dealer never did any of the two service bulletin's for the truck, they are going to pay for everything. We'll see.

I have lit diesel hundreds of times using matches and paper. It works everytime I burn brush or start a warming fire under my dozer tracks in sub zero temps. You can light diesel with matches men.

I've lit ULSD with a match, just wick it with some paper towels or a rag. It kind of burns like lap oil.

We used to light the old diesel heating stoves by soaking a cigarette butt on the end of a straightened coat hanger in diesel, lighting the cigarette butt and sticking it on top of the pool of diesel. Worked every time.

I was fortunate and missed latrine duty with the diesel.

Ive tried to light charcoal with it before and NO it would not ignite with matches. I had to hold a lighter to it for about 10 or 15 seconds before it finally lit.

Next time you want to ignite the charcoal, put the charcoal on some crumpled paper and pour the diesel on the paper.
It ll light.

OK I think what it comes down to is you cant just have a can of diesel throw a match in it and expect it to light, you need something else in aiding it I.E. the paper,or the cigarette butt...

Just for grins, I poured a little diesel fuel on a big chuck of cardboard today and hit it with a disposable lighter. The fuel wouldn't light by itself, but after about 15 seconds, the cardboard started to burn and eventually the fuel burned up. For comparison, I poured a little kerosene on the opposite corner of the cardboard and held the lighter to it. It didn't take as long for the kerosene to catch fire.
