My `04.5 Quad Cab 4X4 (with 9 in. of lift and 37s , TST and PPE on tow setting) gets 12-13 in town and a best of 16.7 @ 60-65mph. If I get up to 70-80 mph , which is with the flow of traffic , I`m looking at 11 mpg

It`s about the same as it was stock , when I bought it new.

These are all hand calculated #s , my overhead reads about 2 mpg more.

Roughly 15 city and 21 highway. But then highway to me is 62 mph, our speed limit here. Truck's never once been over that. Best ever.........32mpg! Ran 250 miles at 35mph during an ice storm. Just enough to get into 4th gear and keep it there. All hand calc.

My 06 4x4 will get 22 on the open road-if you drive under 65. Just normal driving, about 19.

At 70 MPH I consistently get 18 hand calculated. I haven't bothered to hand calculate at 65, the speed I am now driving to try to conserve fuel, but the overhead reads 21.5-22 depending on hills and headwind and usually reads about 1 MPG high so I figure 20 or slightly better. In town around 14 but it has been a long time since I have calculated in town.

Well I get 18 MPG, that is it. Overhead use to read correctly until i got a new flash to make the cruise high idle work. Overhead says 20.6, wrong....

17.4mpg City, 19.8mpg Highway. And that is running B99 on a stock truck, but I go way easy on the skinny pedal and coast as much as I can.

hand calculated

city 18-19
highway under 75 mph 21-22

towing light under 7000lbs 15.5
towing up to 14k lbs 13.2

best ever before this weekend 23.1 santa rosa ca to tahoe and back. 65-70 mph stock hy35 smarty on level 5 afe and exhaust mods thats it stock unit bearings and 315/75 r17 bfg atss at 50 psi

this weekend i dont have a clue how i pulled this one off, i was screwing around trying to see what kind of mileage i could get.....two tanks of fuel first tank did 25.1 (over head read 26.3) second tank 24.3 (overhead read 25.4) mainly on the flats of I 80, up to placerville down to bakersfield up to redding back to santa rosa. temp 60-70 degrees. EGT's never over 700 mainly between 550/600 speed 55-65 on hills i would baby it so speed came down a hair more boost never over 6 psi, except on major hill swhere i kept it below 10 psi and down shifted. oh yeah smarty on level 7 with a S300/ 62/12 and free spin hub kit

anyways it can be done doubt i'll ever pull that off again. but it was cool to try and see what i could do.

100% stock 2004 3500 STL Dually QC 2WD LB 5.9 turbo 4.10 auto 81,000 miles.

When hauling I'm at about 25,000 lbs and I go between 62 - 67 MPH. Depending on wind conditions and the number of hill climbs I have to make I get a low of about 9.5 and a very best at about 11.8. Without the trailer at the same road speed I get on average 16.3. Around town the very best is 14.6. Learned my lesson real early with the 4.10 and that is DO NOT exceed 67 MPH because it really loves to eat the fuel when over 2300 rpm on the road. My transmission and rear end fluids have been changed twice and I always change fuel and oil filters on schedule. I'm on my third set of tires. It came with Goodyears and I replaced them with Generals. No change in fuel mileage but I have gone back to the Goodyears with this set because I think they ride better.

Hand calculated on I-10 going 80 mph, I usually average 16-20 depending on which way the wind is blowing. In town I get about 16. I haven't been on a road trip yet with the smarty so I hope it helps a little.

With 11k miles on the truck, stock 'cept for a Bully Dog on 90hp, truck got 18.3 mpg on a full tank, hand calc, mixed driving in town and 80mph on the freeway. Overhead was showing 19.5mpg.
Pulling the boat, 80mph, in the mtns, 4klbs with a tower, overhaed was reading 15.5, so realistically, about 14mpg.
Pretty happy so far since everything I read is that the milage will kepp improving as I break it in. Orig owner towed a travel trailer for about 5k mi when it was new, think that helps mileage with a good break-in.
It gets almost the same mpg towing the boat as my F150 gets empty!

Speed is everything when it comes to mpg!!!!!!!!

I am in the same boat, i get about 23-24 on the highway and 18-20 average driving both highway and city. I love these 2WD's milage but you have to do a few mods to get it to our level.
