May have a trans problem
So I took my 04 ram to the dealr today for its 120K mile trans service. I had noticed it seem to shift a little funny, but hay its a 48Re and they all shift funny. After the filter change and flush I spoke to the service rep. and he informed me that the kick down band in my trany was three turns out of adjustment
. He said that sometimes that band will lossen on its own or that it could be due to wear and that it may be time for a rebuild. Three turns to me sounds like a lot, but I never noticed the trans slipping or over heating at any time. I have a trans tempo gauge and it had never gotten over 180* since I have owned it. So what do you guy's think? And if it is trashed is ATS still the folks building the best 48 REs? It has been awhile since I posted on this site, as most of my time is now spent on a Trans Am site while I am restoring my 79 TA.

could be worn or could be the last tech adjusted it loose. I like to adjust the bands by the book. The guy that works with me likes to adjust the bands wicked loose. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
if they readjusted it, run it and see how it acts you may be good for a long time still IMO
this is why I think the bands should always be checked/adjusted when a trans service is done. lots of folks think other wise..........
