Looking at getting the Courser AXT (made by Cooper and same basic tire as the Cooper AT3).

265/70 17.

Anyone have any experience with Mastercraft?

What about the AXT?

Thanks guys!

I put Mastercraft studded snow tires on my truck last winter but haven't put more than 1,000 miles on yet so I can't give much of an opinion yet.

I had Mastercraft at's put on my 2500 last fall. They have been shaking my truck to death from day one, rear tires have 3.75 oz of lead on them, fronts have 2 oz also Fronts are cupping bad at 9k.

I have had them taken off and rebalanced 3 times by two shops. Still no good.

dealer will do nothing, contacted Mastercraft and they said " nothing we can do for you"

Never again

I have had cursor A/T 285/70/17 on my truck for 105,000 . . . . Best tire I have ever had. . . Hands down . . . They are only D rated. . . But have not done any real heavy or long towing so I had no worries . . . .

Running them on my truck now.so far so good.in a 315.no shaking. That sounds like truck issues not tire issues.

In my opinion, "Mastercraft Tires" are JUNK!! I was with a good friend of mine heading to Denver, Colorado for a truck rally and he had four (4) BRAND NEW "Mastercraft" Tires on his Duramax and had two of them blow on I-70! The dang tires didn't have 1,000 miles on them! I am pretty sure they are made in China!

However,...."Cooper Tires" seem to be well built and reliable.

I have ran Mastercraft Tires for years they was made in TX and was a very good tires on my 1500 and cars. I run Firestone Trans Force LT 235-85R They are a highway tire and they have a little more rubber than other tires. I also run them on my fifth wheel they have out lasted the good year by 30.000 miles on the truck and 30.000 on the fifth wheel.--GOOD LUCK

Todays tire shops need more experienced workers in their bays. Growing up, we were never allowed more than 1.5 ounces of lead on any one tire. If was that badly out of balance, we were to deflate the tire and rotate it 180 degrees on the rim, reinflate, and then rebalance. If still off, we would remove the tire and spin the rim alone. Sometimes that was the problem, other times the tire was out of round and/or needed to be "trued" to the rim.

As for my experience with Mastercraft Coursers, they didn't last well at all in the Texas heat and hauling stock trailers.

I'm on my 3rd set of Cursor A/T 285/70/17's on my 2500. I've had no problems out of them. I'm getting about 25-30k out of them loaded all the time. Rotate and balnce on schedule, no problem.
