Map Sensor Reads 1.3V at Idle - Is this Normal?

Hey all...

Been doing some testing regarding my rail pressure lately and noticed that according to my scantool..

Boost Pressure = 15PSI at idle. Or 1.3v

Now the thing is this is just a touch over 1 Bar so is this a normal reading or not?

Thanx in advance.

Idle boost=15 psi? Isn't that just indicating atmospheric pressure (14.696 psia at sea level)?

That's what I'm wondering...

The thing that gets me is it is displaying 15 PSI - I hooked my scantool to a 99 24 Valve truck and it reads 0.

The Voltage being 1.3v instead of close to zero is what has me bothered.

When I monitor the boost pressure on my scantool it reads exactly 15 PSI plus what the true boost level is.

So say I'm getting 12 PSI of boost it reads 37 PSI.

Thats why I'm wondering what the true VOLTAGE reading should be.

BTW - I've replaced the MAP sensor and am still seeing the same readings..

I'm curious if there is a problem with my wiring somewhere...

What you are seeing is normal barometric pressure somewhat close to sea level. There is nothing wrong with the reading.

The sensor works exactly like you are seeing. Its shows the barometric pressure and boost over the top compounds on that number.
