Magnetic Oil Plug

Has anyone used the magnetic oil plug? I did a search and found that someone had a problem with it coming loose. I think it was a "SuperPlug". There seems to be a lot of them out there, my problem is which one to get. Any info would be appreciated.

You can always take one of those donut magnets and stick it on the outside of the oil pan - will do the same thing...

Mine worked its way loose the first time I put it in (about 3k after oil change), but now it stays put. Haven't had a problem with it since. I hate to say it, but its kind of a waste of money, since the last 2 oil changes I haven't seen anything on the magnet. But, thats a good thing! For 20 bucks, it's not bad, and may someday give you an early heads up on the internal condition of the engine. But an oil analysis will do the same thing, only better. -Steve

I keep a magnet on my oil filter. It keeps the nasties where they belong.
