Lucas aditive Hype?
Lucas aditive Hype?
So guys were I'm from everyone is high on lucas, when I came home from school for the summer I was getting about 14MPG, pulling my gooseneck loaded one way unloaded home (loaded 23000 total, unloaded 12500 total) I Had been running a mix of 12oz grey power service and 16oz wallyworld TCW-3 2 stroke. Whne I came home I would just run the lucas like the loacl diesel store had and my milege has droped to around 12 mostly unloaded, with very little highway miles. Is it the additive causing this or i sit that I'm not constantly tied to a trailer? or are my short trips causing it. Also it took 5 tanks for my engine to loose the quietness it had with the 2 stroke oil in it.
I have run Lucas for almost a year now, and it works well for me. That being said, I have NOT run 2 stroke in my truck. I keep hearing some people say its not good in a CR. Until Im confident otherwise, Ill stay with the Lucas.
I always use the PS in the grey bottle and either LUCUS or Marvil Mystery oil. I have noticed my truck runs much quieter and smoother on the Lucus. I have not noticed a drop in fuel mileage from it. THe best stuff out there is Valvolene Syn power . Has the cummins label on the bottle. You do get 1-2 MPG better but it says to only use it every 3ooo miles. I bought mine from Genos or the auto store...
I use Lucas in the summer PS when its below zero. They both provide additional lube to the ULS diesel fuel
I think the Lucas improves performance and millage too if your not enjoying the added "performance" that it provides
The PS is a must when it drops below zero, we had a spell of -30 The diesel fuel was gelling in the hoses at the service station...
Powerjokes were the first to go as they try to pull the jello through a filter instead of pushing it. Hmm remind me to migrate south with the birds this winter...
