lube front drive shaft fitting?
Nibroc,,, With me telling her how to hold it I wo'nt begin to tell you where that flash light would end up..... Hope its not one that takes 6 D size batteries.
I would also add that it helps to clean out the divot/fitting before trying to grease it...
I use a q-tip wet with brake cleaner... Without doing this first, I have had a hard time getting grease to go in...

My u-joint has a zert in it ,I had to use a needle lube attachment to get to the zert as the regular lube attachment was too big to pass thru the u-joint and yoke without pulling down the drive line. Is this the same lube point as you mentioned, or maybe what I have is a replacement u-joint with a zert installed instead of a little orfice plate. Also the other end of the driveline past the carrier bearing is a u-joint with a lube zert too. I lube them both at oil change time.
OOps! Looked at the wrong d/L it is the transfer case d/L. I can not find the lube point yet but will keep trying. Mine also has the label under the hood to lube it with every oil change.
Well, after having read this thread I decided that today, a nice day, was the day for me. Sure enough I found the sticker on the radiator support saying to grease the front driveshaft. I have an '06 Dodge 3500. Believing all the supporters of this forum to be up and up straight shooters I went looking for the elusive fitting just knowing that it was there. Sure enough after several minutes of scrutinizing the double joint very closely with a flashlight there it was. Doesn't look to have ever been lubed, everything around it was clean with just a surface coating of light rust. Other than the standard grease fitting I have several of the rubber tipped tubes in different lengths but none that would fit into the joint. Off to NAPA and to spend 7$ for not one but two needle fittings. I think Dodge must have part ownership of the company in China that makes this stuff. As I should have expected my first squeeze on the grease gun, the gun goes dry. Fortunatly I had a tube on hand so other than a brief annoyance I was back at it. So, after all that and trying my darndest I have NO IDEA if I got any grease into that joint. Got plenty around the fitting but don't know if any went in. I'm out of warranty so I guess it doesn't matter that at least it looks lubed. So I'm off to Colorado next month with my trailer, if the joint fails I'll pull the shaft and get a new joint installed, hopefully one that's easier to grease.
To all that have been frustrated by this effort. Keep lookin, it's way down there. But it is there. It's on the forward half of the double joint and the cross member is right in the way.
PS: on all the other U-joints there seems to be a cross pin through the yolk and the cups. Not sure about these could they be simply from the casting process ????? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks for all the advise, you've been right on the money.

Polar, I got grease to come out after several pumps on the grease gun handle. The grease came out of the cups that are on the cross next to the transfer case output yoke. I think this is one of the few times it has been lubed. Luckily for me I had a needle grease fitting end that worked out just right to push the ball check in.
