I can't see it effecting anything except driveline angle a little. If you lost a u-joint or something they might squalk about warranty. If they even noticed the spacer had been moved.

It shouldn't take more than a couple of hours at the most. Go ahead and pull the rear wheels off when you do it. You could do with them on, but it is much easier to get to everything with them off. Make sure you support the frame with good jackstands before you take the u-bolts off. It's not that bad of a job, just be careful, and recheck the torque on the u-bolts after the first drive.

No, they're not that bad. I don't know the actual torque spec. I used a 1/2'' impact, and a breaker bar along with my calibrated wrist on my truck the last time. Be sure and run them down evenly when you do get the actual torque spec.
