lost first gear for a minute

On the 05 in my signature i lost 1st gear while feeding today. I thought sure the trans was shot. I decided that i might just shut it off and see if that helps. I shut it off for a couple minutes then started it back up and first gear is back and shifting perfect. It would just start in 2nd and would be hard to go while it was gone. Anyone else have this problem? And what is the fix?

It was probably starting out in 2nd because of high governor pressure due to a bad governor pressure sensor (Mopar Part #4617210) and/or transducer (Mopar Part #56028196AD). It would be a good idea to replace both. They are pretty easy to get to on the valve body.

Thanks. It has done it a couple more times. I got the extended warranty so sounds like I'll be makin a trip to the dealer.
