Looking at an 04 with 240k miles, what to prepare for?

So I've decided to upgrade my 95 12v to a 3rd gen 6 speed quad cab.

Would you consider an 04 with 240k too high for reliable resale? That's nothing on a 12v.

The truck is BONE stock, and except for the mileage has exactly what i'm looking for. The price seems right, but based on what i'm seeing on here I may be in left field!

1 Ton DRW 04, 3500, quad cab SLT, 6 speed, 240k miles for 13k. Truck seems super clean, completely unmolested. But in my conversations with some 3rd gen friends they seem to think 240k is really high for a 3rd gen. I can't find anything under 15k with less than 200k miles on it locally.

I have seen 3 gens in the 650k+ .find out if it has had new injectors installed ,that will set you back 4k or more if not its past time for new ones also look at the steering and just look it over very good . a low mileage poor maintained truck is worse then a well maintained high mileage one

The 3 big things to check as rebel has stated 2 already are injectors, steering (slop), and ball joints.

I would ck the water pump I replaced mine at around 180,000.
I am still running the original injectors with no issues.I am at 235,000

I bought my 03 with 220,000.
It now has 245,000. I bought it knowing I had to do injectors. that was about $2500. Then did entire front end. Replaced the FCA and that cleared up the rough idle/surge problem.
Out side of that, its been fine.I love it. My truck has 245,000 mi but looks and drives like it has 45,000.
It was well taken care of.
If the one you are looking at is rough and looks rough, id stay away.

It's great to see these trucks holding their value so well (I guess with $50-60k new trucks on the lot, $13k seems like a deal!) but seems high for a truck with a quarter mil miles.
That said, I hit the local (Seattle) CL adds and that price doesn't seem bad if it's in good shape. (Who'd have guessed that my 07 Mega I paid $30k for 4 years ago with 10k mi on it would still be worth close to $30k with 100k mi?)
I'd have a balance rate test run on the injectors and check out the front end.
Of course ck out everything else too including getting verification of what has already been done to the truck.
If it's $13k and it has new injectors, front end components, u joints, brakes, water pump (cheap anyway), PS pump, etc then it sounds like a good deal.
If it has 240k mi on it and it's "all original", I'd expect to sink some money into it shortly for some of the above items.
It's not about the miles, but the age/condition of all the components.
