Got a Mag Hy-Tec pan?
The 'deep dish' holds 4 additional qts (I have to add 11 qts w/ a filterchange).... and I think the regular Mag Hy-Tec hold 2 more.

The truck has 50k miles and I had the trans fluid replaced at 30k miles. This is the original filter with 50k miles.

BTW, the light throttle shift is perfect now.
If thats the first filter change then its pretty normal. The metal on the magnet is normal also for the first pan drop. These transmissions have a habit of making metal with the OE parts, doesn't hurt them it just seems to make more than others.

The gray film is metal dust also from the steels in the clutch packs. The OE steels do this normally.

The bottom of you pan isn't caked up with clutch material or a heavy layer of metal os its pretty normal for 50k.

Nope... Standard issue. I let it drain for over an hour when I do a change, maybe that's it, otherwise I'll have to check the length of the dipstick.

I know you have a different filter, but if anything like mine...it probably holds at least a qt. Will drip AFT for a long, long time!

Mine took 6.5 qts to refill. Being the filter only cost me $18.00 plus tax at Dodge it gets replaced at every service per every trans re-builder I've talked to in the past 30+ years. I hate it when I see, hear dealers feeding people the BS they don't need to change the filter if the pay to have it flushed grrrrrrr, it needs to be replaced every 30K.
