Locked converter
Locked converter
So, apparently my torque converter locked up today. I went to stop and the truck started struggling against it and died when I stopped. Fired right up afterwards. Drove it ~5 miles to the trans shop, popping it in neutral to stop. Then Id put it in Drive and it would nearly die. Drove fine after it got up to speed, but was lugging from stop to about 35.
Oddly enough, it stopped doing it 1/2 mile from the tranny shop and drove normal. He put his Snap-On scan tool on and showed no codes.
So...whats up? Anybody else have this happen? Im guessing its either electrical or (
) something mechanical. Id venture to say mechanical wouldnt revert to normal operation; sounds more like an electrical issue. What other damage could have been caused? I had no choice but to drive it...
