Limited slip or single leg?
I have an 05 4x4 ctd 2500 and I think it does not have a limited slip rearend. Bad for only one tire spinning in wet grass, mud, etc. Is there a tag on the differential that will tell me what it is? And if it is a limited slip what would cause it to only spin one tire? The truck only has 21000 miles.. Also is it a big deal to swap out gears for a limited slip rearend? Thanks.
If your truck is 4x4 then it most likely has limited slip from the factory....although some complain that it does not work well, but then again it is an LSD. The only way to actually verify what is in there is to pull the diff cover and look....might as well change your oil while your at it!!!
I have the most basic trim model (ST, no power anything, plastic floors) and it has a LSD, so I's sure you do also. These are torsion type LDS's so modulating the Ebrake at low tire speed is also very effective.

look inside the glovebox there should be a sticker with options on it. look for "anti-spin rear differential" or something similar, if not maybe you can tell by the VIN, not sure on that one though.
