Limited Slip

I have heard that the American limited slip axels don't require additive, true??

Check for a TSB, there is one on this that states with the limited slip it isn't required.

The version without clutch plates (Trac Rite GT) doesn't need the additive. It uses PFM to get the torque from the slipping wheel to the wheel with traction.
