lift and tires

i just bought this 03 and i have already seen 50 of them just like it, same color, same wheels...........

i am going to change mine. i talked to a 4WD specialty shop/store today and they said i could put a 2" lift in the front and put 35" tires on with 16" rims 4" backspacing rims and clear the fenders.

anyone done that?

my 2 day observation says the Hemi powered set low in the front, mine sets pretty level, I'm going to do a exact measurement tomorrow.

16" rims won't clear the brake calipers.

35" tires will clear with just a 2" level kit but 16" wheels will not fit!!

The other problem might be that 4" backspacing, gonna put those 35's out pretty far, probably hit the bottom corner of the fender while turning. Smallest diameter wheel that will fit is 17" and you might want to stick with backspacing somewhere around 5 1/2"

My truck has 2" leveling springs and Im having 325/70/17 mounted tomorrow, they should just clear the fenders, hopefully....

35" tires are usually wider than 32" stockers. So you want a wider rim. With a wider rim if you have less backspacing than stock you are pushing that wheel WAY out there. I mean WAY. I bet without looking at a spacing calculator that your new rubber will stick out 3" to 4" past your fenders. When you turn the tire will hit the rear of the fender opening.

I jut took off a set of wheels with 4.75" backspacing that made the tires stick about 2 inches out of the wheel well. I hated how it steered, replacing front hubs and ball joints and how the front tires hit the rear of the fender well when turning into driveways.

Here is the new set of Centerline Eclipse 17x8.5 with a 6" backspace, with Toyo 285/75 17 AT tires. The whole package fits into the wheel wells.

hummmmm... ^^^^ that looks good, i like!

is that the stock suspension? i did read leveling kit, is that the front spring spacers only?
i am not a big Toyo fan though, i had a few sets of them on my TJ Jeep, Toyota Tacoma, and the 99 Ram all had a set, switched to Michelin's after that.

i like the rims, shinny is good!

The 325 Nitto's are mounted and so far no rubs, might be a contact point on the fender if I wheel it hard enough but my truck only goes on the beach to scout for fish and there is a 10 mph speed limit on the sand anyway.
i'll see if I can get a decent pic for ya if this rain stops tomorrow.
