They provided me with documentation of how the dealership in Ashland, VA installed the new intank pump harness wrong. On Monday I will begin the process of recouping the money I paid to the dealership in Ashland, VA. My local dealership also replaced the water pump at no additional cost because it had developed a small leak. Drove my truck approx. 35 miles today with no problems.
Truck is still running great. I contacted the dealership in VA. They requested that I fax the paperwork from the repair here in Delaware and the service manager stated that they would "take care of things" if they messed up. I received a faxed response from them stating that it was impossible for my truck to run off of the CP3 only and that they had installed the in-tank pump per the instructions they had. The dealership in Delaware stated that the in-tank pump never ran the way the harness was installed by the VA dealership. Who is telling the truth? It was my understanding that the CP3 was capable of running without a lift pump. I am going to call Dodge customer service tomorrow.

My differentation was due to warranty language, not to imply Cummins warrantied it. Dodge does differentiate between the 7/70 drivetrain and the engine part of the warranty and if you ever get into a heated discussion with a service writer demand to see the warrannty book and you will find out how it is written in the book and there are definate differences listed, usually by number of months for warranty issues, just some service writers can not read what is written and and are inable to interpert it correctly.
DonHov is absolutley correct!

There are a few warranties on your truck and I have researched them thorougly.

12month 12k mile bumper to bumper, including wear items: Brake pads, belts hoses, etc.

3yr/36k mile bumper to bumper warranty, excluding some wear items, wiper blades

7yr/70k mile drivetrain (on my 2005, sorry 2006+ owners they dropped this one). Has a $100 deductible AFTER 3/36k

7yr/100k mile warranty on Cummins engine. First 5 years of service are ZERO deductible and years 5-7 is a $100 decutible if under 100k miles.

I know this all to well because my dealer tried to charge me $100 deductible for a fuel leak from the high pressure pump. I argued with the service writer about it and he showed me some VIP report that was very poorly worded. I then asked him to show me in my warranty manual, which by the way is the binding contract you have with chrysler, and he was unable to. Another service writer (next to him) told me I was right but they insisted I pay the 100 bucks. I did and called DC (at the time) and they called the dealership and talked to their warranty person. Needles to say The owner of the dealership called me and asked if I wanted my refund sent to my house or if I would like to come pickup the check. I almost told him to have the service writer deliver it to me but the owner was very nice about their mistake.
