Lift Pump Done at 154,000

I knew it was coming but I pushed it to far. My LAST trip from Texas to New Orleans, LA was a hard one. The lift pump went out at mile marker 101 in Lafayette. I changed out the filter on the side of the road and let it cool down and it restarted, I knew there was a dealership down the road so I headed that way. I called all the autoparts stores and a new pump was going to take 3 to 5 days to get in. Being in the Marine Corps, and needing to be at work the next day, I needed something now. Well, the dealership had a retro kit, but the bad news was it was going to cost me $1000 to get it installed. The pump was about 348 but the labor hit the wallet hard. I couldn't wait so I gave them the go ahead, 2 hours and a grand later I was back on the road. QUESTION? Everything is working great and I'm not looking at going anymore HP, Will this pump last me? I know I should have replaced the pump before this but my job has me on the go A LOT. I do notice a slight surge when it's on curise control but all else works good. I headed overseas this month and I want to make sure the wife does not run into problems. Thanks in advance to all. Please go easy on me... for not replacing this sooner.

The intank pump is more than adequate for stock or small hp mods and is more reliable than the engine mounted one that failed. You should be okay. That sucks you couldn't have got it replaced sooner with a nicer aftermarket pump for alot less money but stuff happens and you gotta do what you gotta do.I was in the Navy and I know all about being somewhere on time. The military doesn't like a bunch of excuses!

have them save your intank fuel pickup canister.

I regret not keeping mine when the Dealership did the retro on mine. you'll be shopping like me later on.

I am still running the intank pump with the beta 4.4 and though i can draw my fuel pressure down a fair amount i've never seen zero or close to it even ona long grade and my truck sucks some fuel when it wants to

I did get the Liberty Canister from them, just in case I want to do some mods on it. Thanks for the info all.
