Decided to drop the pan and do a filter change on the tranny today. It has been done once before at 50,000 miles by the dealer and it has 75,000 miles now but I have been pulling a lot lately and wanted to see how things were looking. Well not to good apparently. There was a lot of very fine metal dust on the magnet, not particles just dust, but there was a piece of something there as well;


I have not noticed any issues, slipping or noises but even I know that a piece like this in the tranny pan isn't good. Does anyone have any ideas?

i think that is the ring for the overdrive gear it is a snap ring they break get it fixed before driving it anymore!
