Just wandering about hard start problem

I posted last week what my truck was doing while trying to start it every now and then. Since then, I have been turning the key on and waiting till all the dash light check systems go out, then starting it. (Kind of like on my old '03 waiting for the wait to start light to go out). Anyway, I have not experienced the fail to start the first time like before doing this.

Was maybe wandering if there is somekind of pressure that needs to be built up in the fueling system by turning the key on first and waiting a couple of seconds to start up?

Yea I think the lift pump comes on for a few seconds when you hit the key. I wait for the lights then hit the starter, it starts right up 90% of the time. Other times I have to hit the key twice. No biggie, makes passengers nervous, however .

I wait a couple of seconds also before I start and it does seem to start alot easier.
