Wink Just had trans rebuilt and problems need advice

Trans was rebuilt couple days ago and it is shifting crappy. First is good second holds on till recline at times. Third is real short then to 4th by about 40mph. I have a hard thump from reverse
to drive and vice versa. The shifts are nice and firm mostly but every so often they are totally messed up almost like doing neutral drops. I had the 1/2 shuttle but that is the only thing that has been fixed. It also threw codes 1740/0868/0713/1756. Any suggestions other than find a new mechanic. This is the second rebuild and it is almost worse than the first mech. What do I need to do to get this fixed right? Sorry for the long post but I am frustrated and need a properly working truck. Thanks much.

Ask your Mechanic to check all pressures? Also, was any work done to the valve body? Also, was the torque converter replace?

yeah he took out my triple lock and replaces it with a klein stock unit without me asking. he said the other was shot. he had to rework the valvebody as the first guy messed it all up. i wish i knew more about autos but i feel like i am being taken for a ride each time it gets worked on. if i had the 4,500 i would buy one from a reputable trans co. prob is this truck is constantly broken and costing me big money. thank you for the reply.

Today it has been shifting much better. No codes today either. It is still clunking/slamming into drive and reverse. It also has a very harsh downshift to first. It almost chirped the tires a few times. Lastly in 2nd with a good load and good throttle on an incline it will rev up to 3200 rpm until I let off then will clunk into gear. Any ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Do these trans learn your driving habits. If so over what amount of time does it take to do so.
