My Dad needs a replacement head for his late 2004. EBay had the best prices, but I have seen different interchanges. On the cylinder heads for sale on eBay it lists interchange as 1998-2007. So basiclly all 24V's interchange. But others suppliers show 2003+ only. And as far as I can tell the head gaskets are different for the common rail.
Can anyone tell me for sure what cylinder head will interchange?

the older 24v heads will work but they do not flow as well as the newer CR heads. The best flowing stock head is 06 and 07 heads.
