That would be the wiring harness for the AC compressor. It is like a fish hook for oil filters and you wrist.

I had my first oil change at Jippy . 65 bucks. I was out on a trip and couldn't find a local dealer. My dealer wants service at 3750miles. I was at 3000 when I pulled in to Jippy.
Fram "A" type filter, like the guy above stated, and I made them use Delo 400 all 3 gal's worth.
I set rite out side looking under the truck while they did it.
And as far as oil in a diesel getting black quick, every loader and backhoe I've owned used Delo 400, and it turns BLACK very fast.

Jippy Lube hires the Sears car care rejects.

I wouldn't take my push lawn mower to them.

I think some of them become production engineers for Ford Motor Company. Not sure about the rest.

Why wouldn't he? He wants you opening your wallet at his dealership as often as possible. The funny thing is Dodge recommends every 7500/15000 miles. I did my 1st oil change at 3500 miles, then second at 7500 miles. Now I do them every 7500, or about every 6 weeks.

In regards to the post- Yes, black is very normal.
