Jiffy Lube
I had my first oil change at Jippy
. 65 bucks. I was out on a trip and couldn't find a local dealer. My dealer wants service at 3750miles. I was at 3000 when I pulled in to Jippy.
Fram "A" type filter, like the guy above stated, and I made them use Delo 400 all 3 gal's worth.
I set rite out side looking under the truck while they did it.
And as far as oil in a diesel getting black quick, every loader and backhoe I've owned used Delo 400, and it turns BLACK very fast.

Forgot to mention, I have 10 free payed service's with my truck. The wife had it done again yesterday by the dealer. at 3899 miles.
Yep.......... a waste of oil but I loose it if I don't use it.

Why wouldn't he? He wants you opening your wallet at his dealership as often as possible. The funny thing is Dodge recommends every 7500/15000 miles. I did my 1st oil change at 3500 miles, then second at 7500 miles. Now I do them every 7500, or about every 6 weeks.
In regards to the post- Yes, black is very normal.
