Go get a GOOD transmission before it strands you.

That's not a nice thing to say to a proud owner of a new (to him) truck. What makes you think what he has, is not GOOD?

Ummm, he asked, specifically about the trans, if anybody had any opinions on a JASPER unit. I answered, specifically about the trans.

Not heard good things from the few that have tried these units behind a diesel. Better for grocery getter 4 banger cars.

What did you want me to do, blow smoke up his skirt?

Walking to work on a busy highway is probably more reliable then having a Jasper behind a diesel. Their gas engines are good but they lack on trans.

LOL!!! I like the no BS report. He asked, he got an opinion!!!

If you just bought it, tromp the heck out of it and if it breaks, take it back.

They do a million units(from 4 cyl. gas engines to big block gassers to 350 diesel to 8.3 Cummins to rear ends to transfer cases to stick tranny to autos)a year. They sell cheap. 'Nuff said.

You are asking for advice, not opinions.

Take your truck to a good diesel trans shop. Ask them to analyse it with GUAGES and a drive.

THIS IS AN OPINION:

Maybe if the PO had put a Goerend or DTT transmission in he wouldn't have sold it!!!

Got to agree. I have a Goerend in my 03 and wouldnt trade a guy for a similar 06 the other day just because he has a different (ATS) tranny.

How many of you guys own a Jasper Transmission?
I personally never heard of them till now.

Best bet is to run the tranny till it starts to show signs of packing it in. Give us all a report on how well it works.

Many of those "good" transmissions have left many people stranded also.

My buddy broke his Goerend, another one broke his NADP, another one broke his ATS and another one broke his BD. They must be junk also. None of them had power mods done to their trucks.

Good luck with your tranny

REALLY???

How did the Goerend guy turn out? Did Dave fix it for him? I just sent a friend to Dave and he just got a price.... Hasn't taken him the trans yet, but I'll let him know if Dave didn't stand behind it!
