Inline transmission filter kits, any feedback?

I'm getting ready to do a tranny service on my truck and install a deep aluminum pan while servicing. I've noticed that BD sells an inline filter kit (48RE) and wondered if anyone out there has any experience with this kit. In my experience running remote engine oil filters on some of my other stuff has resulted in decent temp drops, thought this might be a good way to get additional filtration, capacity and a bit more cooling of the trans fluid. Any feedback? Thanks!

I was looking at the same kit in the Jegs catalog. I'd like to see a pic with one installed. If the filter was easy to get to & mounts vertically I would consider one. How much replacement filter cost ? Seems like a good way to monitor the fluid between changes.

kinda curious about the mounting myself. I run remote filters (oil not tranny) on a different vehicle and it uses standard automotive filters, so price varies based on quality of filter. I run large filters and get additional oil capacity this way too. Thought the extra filtration could not hurt either.

I've been told to not do it on any Dodge trans by several rebuilders. So you go ahead install one and let us all know how it turns out and then again in 10,000 miles.

I find that and the "drainback checkball" just two points where you are going to restrict fluid flow. I wouldn't put one on mine.

good points, may not be a good idea. I don't know anyone who has ran one so this may be a good indicator... thanks for the feedback
