Unhappy Injector open circuit code

Truck started missing badly and check engine light came on while driving. checked for codes and had two, one for #2 injector open circuit and one for group a open circuit. Can still start and runs badly. No diesel in the oil. Could it be a bad wire harness or Injector? Changed out fuel filter, and no difference.

Is the Diablo a ECM programmer or a fooler. ( is it plugged in to the harness at all?
If it is disconnect it.

If that isnt your problem Chrysler has been having problems on some trucks with the Harness wearing through where it goes into the valve cover.

Diablos a programmer...plugs into diagnostic port under dash, load a new program in and it stores the stock program, then unplug.

I dont know about you, but an open circuit sounds like a loose connection somewhere, but I could be wrong. Never seen that code before.

Unplugged wire harness to see if any corrosion, looked fine. put some power service in filter/tank, cleared codes, and started her up. She started rough, but just took about a minute and she smoothed out. dunno maybe just a plugged injector?

Still have any codes? If not maybe you got the loose connection when you unplugged it...?

Edge was having a problem with some trucks throwing the open circuit code with some of their programmers. Hence the question.

And Dodge has been having these codes thrown also due to wires chaffing where the grommet is, (where the wire enters the valve cover).
Most of the mechanics from Dodge I talked to never heard of injector failures also. That was untill my truck came off warrenty.

Cheers all

went for a little drive and didn't throw codes again. The *********** where I used to go wants to blame injector noise on fuel quality and idle time. supposedly checked them when it was in last, but I had some words with their service manager over some alignment issues. Don't go there any more.

My truck does this same thing every time that i turn my edge to the unlocked setting. Called edge they told me that it is fuel supply issue that i need to get more to the motor some how. I even have a friend that is the tech at dodge took him for a ride with the factory scan tool an he couldn't figure out why it is doing it but it does it every time i get on it.

I can't believe more people haven't chimed in about this. This has happened to me a few times, even when towing. Half your engine working, no power, sounds like a old tractor? There are (2) plug ins for your injectors on the driver side of the engine, right next to valve cover (harness is a part of the gasket) They are divided into Group A and Group B, group A is the plug closest to the front of the engine...

Simply... they seem to be getting corroted, probably little rubber gasket allowing condensation to seep through, causing bad connection. I purchased a product like WD-40, made by HOWE'S, that seperates the water. Spray it in both the plugs ends, allow to dry. IF IT HAPPENED NOW, IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN.

When it happened to me (#1 stick), it came and went during a trip to LA and back. It got worse over a weeks time till the stick would be 100% dead.

Dealer replaced #1 stick at 97,500 miles, almost 60,000 miles ago. Been fine since. You still under warrantee? If my warrantee was gone, I'd send all 6 to F1.
