Code 0253? Fuel injection pump fuel valve open circuit
Got an 0253 code which is explained in my Smarty manual under "circuit" and described as Fuel Injection Pump Fuel Valve Open Circuit. This was on a high speed acceleration testing the new twins and my Comp on 5x5 yesterday. The truck was fully warmed up, etc. Just wondering how bad this is or just from beating on the truck? I cleared the codes and the truck seems to run fine. Any input is appreciated as I'm getting ready for a 400 mile round trip today for turkey hunting. Just wondering if I should ride in my buddies Ford instead?
Thanks, Matt
Thanks, Matt
Well, did my trip, no issues and no more codes. Just curious if anyone knew if this was a sign of a dying VP? I've got another trip to middle Tennesse tomorrow. BTW, my fuel economy actually improved from 15 to 20 hand calculated. May have been because change to summer fuel or maybe my twins are burning fuel more efficiently......dunno?
I suspect the mileage increase would be from the twins. Is summer fuel out yet? The good mileage is proabably a good sign if you're worried about the VP, but sorry I don't have any experince with that code =\
