injector install
hey guys, I just want to be perfectly clear on one of the instructions I have hear, I figure better to be safe than sorry. the directions call for me to install the rockers and crossovers in the "same order they were removed", now that can have multiple meanings. but I take it to mean install the rocker and crossover that came of of #1 valve, back on the #1 valve. they dont actually mean put them on in the same order I took them off right (start at 6 and work to 1)? I know I know, stupid question, but I really dont feel like destroying Don M's handy work.
thanks!

I am gonna add to this. when connecting the high pressure fuel lines, I have to torque them to 22ftlbs, what kinda wrench do you use for that, I have a socket torque wrench, but obviously that wont work, it has to be some sort of open ended torque wrench or something....

No, you don't have to assemble it in any particular order, except the obvious of course. What they mean to say is: assemble all components in the same location as they were removed from. I always lay out the pushrods, crossheads, pedestals etc. and label them so they go back in exactly the same location and facing the same direction that they were.
Valve cover goes on last.

I did a set last night, I removed air horn/fuel rail, then did ONE injector at a time, ...took out the injector, replaced the nozzel, replaced the o ring/copperwasher/ replaced the connector tube O-ring, then re-installed the injector....then moved on to the next one, once all injectors were done then I installed the fuel rail.
This way you cannot mix up parts.
I did not use a torque wrench on the fuel lines, I estimated the torque required.
I started at 8:30 and was done at midnight, and this was the first time I had done a set of 3rd gen nozzels
