I think I might have a bad injector. Every once and a while it gives me a hard time starting. Runs clean, no haze or white smoke, some black smoke when I get on it. Idles fine I guess no knocks or anything. My question is will adding some nozzles fix a potentially bad injector or should I get whole injectors?

 

Tried any injector cleaner? Power service etc...

 

I had experienced the same thing and I ran some cleaner (Diesel Clean by Power Services)through and it seems to have taken care of that issue. I usually run that every few tanks and I kind of missed it for almost a year or so.Try that and good luck.

 

Have you hooked it up to something heavy to tow around for a while?
I notice that mine will do that sometimes, and after I've pulled my 10k camper around it runs a lot better.

 

No don't really tow anything, I don't think I have ever towed anything with now that you mention it. I just started the power source diesel cleaner at the beginning of the week. So we will see what happens. That's all I used on my older trucks. Maybe I'll give it the beans a couple of times see if that loosens it up. Thanks for the replies
