Injection, Tranny, Gremlins?
Injection, Tranny, Gremlins?
This is probably my first post as I usually get the information I need through searches. Unfortunately, this time my luck ran out. I have a 2003 3500 that I pull a two car wedge trailer with. Recently, my truck started behaving rather odd. When in gear at a dead stop the truck powerbrakes itself. Lots of clatter and smoke, especially when it's really cold. Put it in park or neutral and it idles fine. When I go to take off, the truck feels extremely sluggish as if I'm starting in second gear. Once I get going the truck drives and pulls fine. Also, I hear this strange noise on occasion when letting off the throttle at lower speeds after "goosing" it so to speak. The noise sounds as if it's coming from the tranny area. It's hard to describe, sort of a weird raspy noise. This all started after being in some cold weather. I did change the fuel filter and the air filter, but the problem remains. I also tried the howe's meaner cleaner as well. Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.
