Gas Gauge Gremlins?

Respond if you can relate: I had made a quick run to the store this am. On the way out of the store I pulled away with a nice head of steam ;D I approach a stoplight & voila gas gauge reads 0 & low fuel light comes on *** is that? Computer reads 0 fuel too. The truck had 1/4 of a tank of fuel. I head to house, shut it on & off a few times , Nothing still reads zero, I left running for a couple of minutes, I come back out & it's back to 1/4.Is my Grey Ghost pocessed? or am I cracking up? : [undecided]

Re:Gas Gauge Gremlins?

My 98 does the same thing starting at about a half a tank. I can never trust the gage from half full to empty. It is common in the 2 gens. I'm told and guess it is carried over to the 3d gen.<br> ;D Al

Never had a problem in my '00 or '01. Haven't had it in my '03 either.

Re:Gas Gauge Gremlins?

just yesterday my overhead computer went crazy. It didnt have any numerical info...just, --, the compass still worked so at least i would know where i was going when i ran out of fuel but it's fine now.....so added to the list of strangenames for problems on rams ( death wobble, etc....) we now have guage gremlins

Re:Gas Gauge Gremlins?

I had the same prob with mine a few weeks ago. I was praying to God not to run out of gas before I made it to a station. 0 miles to empty is not something you want to see being 15 mi to a diesel stop. When I filled it up it only took 20 gal instead of 28 or whatever this tank holds. Freaked me out too.
