idling with open fuel cap?

idling with open fuel cap?

well the weather is getting cold again and i am fighting to keep the truck warm. anyone know if the truck will pop a check engine light if i refuel with the engine running?

Not on the 5.9 trucks. It will on the 6.7 truck due to evap system.

yea, thats what i thought, but it could have sworn i read in the manual that it could trip it.

No evap system on the fuel tank on a 5.9 that is why we have to put hoses and filters on the rollover valves because they can suck in dirt and water.

I accidently left my cap off for aboout 2 miles the other day and mine stalled and the check engine light came on. It went off after a day and a half but then it stalled and the light came on again a few days later. I had the dealer look at it today...They reset/reflashed for me but couldn't find anything else. I don't think it was a coincidence but I guess we'll see if it happens again.

I have yet to do a tank vent mod so I shut down as it takes at least 10 minutes to get liquid up the spout! It's that last 4-5 gallons that take all the time, but that's worth 80-100 miles easy!
