idle up ?
idle up ?
the dealer had my truck all day too tell me they can't do idle-up on a 6-speed without a pto switch, even though they told me it was 5 minute job.then he says dodge does'nt offer a pto switch.has anybody had their idle-up engaged on a g56?
Yes they do sell the switch, it is like 3 or 4 hundred dollars, if I remember correctly. Tell them to call star and they will give them the part #. I was going to do mine but I did not want to spend the money but it looks like I am going to now since I idle quite a bit more. I will see if I can find my post about it from last year on Dodge Truck World.
*EDIT* I found the post but it did not have the part # on it. You can get the wire from Cummins cheaper than the dealer. I am going to do some research in the next few days and see what I come up with unless someone on here already has it and knows what we need to do.

All you need to do is have the dealer enable the function. Cummins sells the "clutch switch kit" for around $100. Dodge sells the same kit for $309. The Cummins P/N is 408985100. Look up Cummins Atlantic and call one of their sites and they can order the kit and even drop ship it to you.

you can also do a search on here or someone will chime in w/ the link where you ground out a pin for the ecm that will allow the high idle to work!
sorry i didnt get back to your pm, as i just checked all this stuff and figured it would get back to you this way!

Scoot you are welcome. Rusty is right about the ground thing, that is what the "switch kit" does. You install the pin in the appropriate location on the ECM plug ( I forget now) and then run a wire through the switch to a ground. It is for safety.

Has anyone actually bought the clutch switch kit from Dodge or Cummins? If so, what exactly does the kit come with? I've looked under the dash and I can't see where you would even mount a switch for the clutch pedal
