Hi all. I have an idle stumble which happens only once on startup.
It starts fine, then 5-10 seconds later it acts like it's going to stall, then overcompensates and revs up, then returns to normal idle and typically it will stay like that.
Today, it actually stalled.\
I have HP Tuners and I tracked actual vs desired rail pressure. Sure enough the rail pressure dived to 1400 or so when it stalled.
Would you expect the FCA for the issue? Truck runs fine otherwise.
For those interested, I found my issue. It turns out there was weeping leaks from the injector lines where they met the injector tubes on 2, 3, and 4.
I did look for leaks before thinking FCA, but somehow I missed them.
Itried to order lines and tubes from my local Cummins guy only to find out that Dodge has reclaimed the rights for these parts and they can't get them through Cummins (In Canada at least).
No going to pay *********** prices, so I looked around and amazon has some. For $165 Cdn I got new tubes and lines for all 6. What the hell I took a chance on them.
The quallity is pretty good I'd say. I shot some brake clean through them in case there was any machining debris left over and went through the process to change them out (Loosen injectors, tighten injectors a bit, then 11 ft lbs on the nuts, then full tighten on the injectors, then went to 40 ft lbs on the nuts. Spec is 37 and 45... so I picked 40 lol.
Leaks are gone, stumble/stall is gone. Hopefully it lasts a while...we'll see.
