I screwed up. Put 2 gallons gas in my truck!
Hi guys,
Went to the station to fill up my gas can to mow and ... you guessed it, put 2 gallons of gas (not diesel!!! ) IN MY 2007 5.9 CUMMINS. I decided to fill it to the top with diesel afterwards and put about a pint of power service winter in it that i had left over. It has only been driven about a mile since the screwup. So , 32 gallons diesel, 2 gallons gas. Am I ok to keep topping it off to dilute it and burn it up???? How bad did I screw up!

Better than me a year ago!
I screwed up at my local BP station and used the green handle to fill my near-empty truck with Super Unleaded!
I didn't start it, had it towed across the street to a friend's service station. He rigged a short jumper wire set with a circuit breaker in it, and we triggered the in-tank lift pump from the terminal in the TIPM. I ran out over 35 gallons of fuel into gas cans through the water drain on the fuel filter housing. I then ran 5 gallons of fresh #2 diesel through the system and a new filter. I replaced that filter with a fresh one, and filled the tank with frsh #2, bled the lines, and fired her up. Doesn't seem to be any issues.
I have read accounts of people using gasoline in a pinch, recalling seeing emergency provisions somewhere that allowed for small quantities, etc. I would keep topping the tank with Diesel (all the way to the filler vent if possible) to continue diluting the mixture, if you don't want to drain out the fuel, and change the oil very frequently.
I just finished running the last of the drained gas/dilute diesel mixture through my car at the end of this May. Expensive mistake, but draining the system (in my case) was definietly the only option, to save the $$$ from becoming a $$$$$.

2 gallons to 30... not an issue. And... you were smart enuf to put power service in the tank too. Good call... that's using the ol noggin.
Run er down about 1/2 way and refill again with the right juice... add some more PS just to be sure...not too much over usual.
It'll be fine... today's gas is darn near diesel solvent anyway... now if it was 104 octane preminum from 1968 well... I'd tell you different. LOL
I'd run it but it's your call, your truck.

Wont hurt anything and in fact will give you more.power. Gas has a lower flash point so it will effectively advance your timing some. Watch your egts because it burns hotter too. At that ratio i think you are fine just dont make a habit of it unless you know what you are doing.
The worse part is that its drier and you do not get the lubricating effects that diesel has and it can be hard on pumps and injectors. This is why they inject methynol through the intake. Gas and meth are similar but meth has a higher octane and more stable flash point but they will act similar.

Not a problem at that ratio
I once put 30 gallons of gas in my truck. (Green handle on the gas pump) Drained the tank with my air dog the best I could. Put 26 gallons of diesel in and hit the highway. if it was 50/50, them you may have an issue.
They use unleaded to winterize Bio Diesel

I used the green handled pump at a Mobil and put 17 gals. in mine which filled the tank. Drove the truck about a 1/4 mi. to a repair facility and pumped the tank dry. Changed the FF and filled er up and never had an issue. I also put in a qt. of motor oil in the tank of fuel. HTH

Like the guys said above that ratio you will be fine. Heck in iraq we would put about 3 gallons of mo-gas (army verision of unleaded) in the humvee's (which had the detuned 6.5L) with the jp-8 (army verision of diesel) to burn the govenors out of the injectors and make the trucks run alot smoother and lil bit faster. I wouldnt do it on my Dodge but on the humvees it worked great.
