I don't know what's up
so here we go with the problems... when i put my truck in drive it doesn't show that I'm in drive and shifts fine but will not lock-up no od...any suggestion?
If its not seeing drive then it won't shift into OD. The current gear is monitored by the range selector box on trans wher ethere used be a neutral safety switch.
It could be an adjustment there, a bad box, or a shift cable adjustment.
Do the rest of the gears light up when your in them?
Can you move the shifter to get D to light?

You may want to try lightly tapping on the bracket under the truck that holds your shift cable. A rock may have hit it and knocked it out of whack. I forget which way you need to tap it but just do light taps as it is VERY sensitive and only needs to move a tiny bit...

disconnect the battery cables for 15 or so minutes and maybe it will reset. also go under the truck and unplug the electrical connectors to see if there is corrosion in them. i had a problem with one of mine
well I guess it's going to the trans shop tomorrow because nothing I've done has worked.. i guess we'll see what they say. thanks for all your help, when i have news as to what it is I'll let you all know.
so it's been over a week, and two trips to the tranny shop.you see my problem is also intermittent. so of coarse the first trip going to the doctor it's running fine and throws no codes and was told if it's not acting up i cant diagnoase...truck ran fine for another week. then starts to do it's crap again on Saturday. back at shop still screwing up and he hooks his reader up to it and says that's odd i can't reed your tranny trys ten times.he finally says leave it here and I'll get to the bottom of this. he called today and says that he thinks the ignition switch is bad and is not sending enough current to the tranny to tell that the truck is even running... sound like it could be logical? what's your two cents.. and my tranny guy is known for building some of the most bullet proof 727's so i don't think he's just trying anything..
